Structural Analysis

When we’re planning our engineering design, we have an eye towards minimizing the structural scope of work and cost of materials – saving you money. We’re also mindful of building departments requirements to make sure the job is done right and without avoidable delays. Our custom analysis reports are easy to read so that building departments and our clients can follow the calculations and relate the information to the structural drawings. Our custom-built software provides flexibility to design the most economically feasible way possible, unlike the off-the-shelf software our competitors use.

Structural Drafting

With most of our projects, we provide CAD drawings that depict the structural information on your layouts. This is included with the Structural Analysis report! We also provide complete structural drawings at your request – notes, details, and plan check correspondence included. The advantage of opting to have us provide your structural drawings is that nothing is lost in translation between the engineer and draftsman. With more and more scrutiny during the plan check phase, it’s critical that the engineer oversees the structural plans in order to avoid costly delays. This expedites your project!

Plan Coordination

Almost every building permit is preceded by plan check comments. We make it our top priority to satisfactorily address them as quickly as possible to not cause any unnecessary delays. Anybody in the construction industry will tell you that building department requirements are becoming progressively more stringent and challenging to satisfy. We are confident in our ability to help you navigate through the mounting red tape! In addition, if your project requires site visits during the design or construction, we will work with you to keep you on schedule.

Light-framed value engineering solutions for residential and commercial projects. Custom homes, tract homes, multifamily units, remodels & additions, retail space, car washes, restaurants – you name it. We’ve got your structural design handled.

About Kyle M. Pope -

Licensed Professional Civil Engineer

As an engineer, not only do I enjoy solving problems and designing structures as cost-effectively as possible, I love working with my clients and seeing their works and passions come to life.

Growing up in Fresno, CA, I knew at a very early age that I’d one day be a structural engineer. My father, Ron Pope, has owned and operated a residential design and drafting company since 1985. He gave me my first job as a teenager helping him draft his structural plans. After high school I enrolled at Lyles College of Engineering at Fresno State and graduated four years later with Cum Laude honors.

While I valued my education, work experience has always been my focus.  In college, I began working at Platinum Engineering as a draftsman.  My responsibilities included drawing complete structural plans and details while working with designers, contractors, and building officials.  After graduation, my responsibilities grew to preparing the engineering calculations and managing building department submittals.  In my 9 years at Platinum Engineering, I was privileged to work on some impressive projects including Shaver Lake lodge homes, the commercial development at Fresno’s Park Crossing, McDonald’s restaurants throughout the valley, and the new Selma Hyundai show room.

I became licensed as a Professional Civil Engineer in 2014 and in 2017 I started Kyle M. Pope Structural Engineering. I am thrilled to be doing what I love for a living! My wife Makali is actively involved in the business, helping me with drafting on AutoCAD as well as the business side of engineering. She’s the people person and I’m the numbers guy! This company has broadened my horizons by allowing me to work directly with who my work is accountable to – you!

“Mr Pope is a savior. We were in escrow and needed some calcs for some construction to get the house sold. He came through exactly as he said he would. We had been burned by a few other engineers/architects before who don't care about timelines. I think this is common in this industry but not with Mr Pope. Mr Pope's plans were detailed and accurate. I can't say enough about Mr Pope's work. Do not hesitate entrusting him with your job. This is now my go to Engineer. This should be your Engineer too!”
